About Templar: Meet the Founder
Edward D."Ned" Reeves (1934 – 2011) founded Templar Food Products in 1971. A Chemistry graduate of Williams College, Reeves based his career in the international tea and coffee industry. He was active on the Technical Committee of the Tea Association of the U.S.A., of which Templar Food Products is a longstanding member.
Reeves began working in the Research Department of Tenco, a major instant coffee and tea manufacturer, in 1955. He spent sixteen years helping grow the company, including the eventual purchase of Tenco by The Coca-Cola Company. He traveled extensively to tea producing countries, and was a board member of a corporate tea processing operation in Kenya.
